Weekend Recap: Tree Huggers Trot Through the Forests

Brueton parkrun:  Wainwright showed no signs of tiredness from Thursday’s track training as he ran a solid 17:36 at Brueton. He led a welcome return to speed for Tim Price who clocked a not to shabby 18:34. Both men making the most of K&D’s Tuesday and Thursday sessions for those of you running 21 minutes and below. Speak to Darren, Rosie or Torsten if you fancy joining the fun. Paul Bentley rounded out the top-3 in 18:41.

Flick Sharp sits atop our ladies podium this week. She ran 22:17 to finish 6th K&D’er overall. She is joined by the ever excellent Jane Hunt who smashed out a 22:40 and Siobhan Cotter who ran 25:43 on her way back from injury.

Sunday Longrun’s with ‘The Lads’ at 8:30 minutes a mile is paying off for Paul O’Donnell who cracked a new PB of 22:23. And congrats to Flick Sharp who joined the 50 club.

Forest of Dean parkrun:
The holiday tourism is rolling in now. Jan Hornby and Isabel Arthur embraced their inner tree-hugging with a 27:40 and 29:46.

Coventry parkrun:
We presume Johnny Bellman hasn’t gone to Coventry for his summer hols. He did run 20:01 though.

Cannon Hill parkrun:
Cake with friends drew Darren John, Kate Marsh and Rob Stewart to Cannon Hill. An alternate 5.2k trail and grass course proved interesting as the normal route was off-limits due to other park based activities. Darren ran 20:21. Rob Stewart and Kate Marsh ran 27:57 and 27:58 – both taking it easy and victim of some narrow bottlenecks and bamboo. Treehuggers 3 & 4.

Harrogate parkrun:
Richard Orriel went up’t north to the tea shop capital of the world. He ran 21:27 in the lovely town of Harrogate.

Kingsbury parkrun:
Pete Makepeace continued his excellent marathon prep with a swift 21:20 over at Kingsbury. Treehugger 5.

Wyre Forest:
Kevin Tomkinson is our tree-hugger #6 of the week as he ran 29:34 around the forest of Wyre.

Stratford-upon-Avon parkrun:
Hannah Gibson made her parkrun debut! After several weeks superb running she popped up with a more than decent 23:06. Welcome to the cult…
