It was a cold -4 in Solihull when the alarm clocks rang out on Sunday but it didn’t stop a number of hardy K&D making the monthly sojourn to Kingshurt for the Centurion GP. Our BFF’s Centurion hosted another great mixed terrain race.
First K&D home was Chairman DJ who knocked a minute off last month’s time to run 32.05. A way of his best still but at least heading in the right direction. Behind him Rosie Marsh ran 33:31 at the back end of a high mileage week. Amanda O’Leary put the women’s team ahead with a 34:04 nipping home ahead of Steve Armstron in 34:41. Phil Wood continued his hot streak (not in a public park please) with a PB of 36:04. Kevin Tomkinson joined Phil on the PB bus with a 39:01. Stephen Ray ran 39:39 on his longest run since knee surgery. Graham Edwards left the missus at a Zumba convention and joined his team mates running 40.03. Kate Marsh, 42:39 put a week of food, high heels and “networking” behind her and finished ahead of Ann Spencer-Dowdeswell in what we believe is ANOTHER PB. 43:15 for reference.
Katie Price in 45:27, Linda Whitehead in 47:01 and Louise Kemp in 51:41 rounded out the K&D Numbers like Atomic Kitten at the Super Bowl.
Server issues only delayed Gareth Wainwright’s inevitable mid-17 run. 17:33. Paul Bentley took silver in 19:28 and Andrew Connor’s Bronze in 20:23. Buggy Bad-Ass Mary Heald clocked 22:50 for the women, followed by Kerry Whitehill in 29:08 and Genette White in 29:11.
Mark Sanders defied the cold to PB in 27:44.
A shoe lace malfunction left Darren John playing catch-up and scuppering a sub-19 attempt. 19:24 and a need for velcro shoes. Kate Marsh ran 25:59 while Rob Stewart’s Kidney Malfunction is disappearing like the minutes off his parkrun times. 26:36 for him.
