Weekend Recap: Flick on The PB Alarm

Xmas Party: Meet at The Forest between 7 and 7:30pm. Quiz Starts 7:30pm prompt. There will be K&D Rain Jackets (£27.50) and Old Stock Winter Running Kit/Hoodies on sale too (up to £20).

Telford 10k:
The fastest 10k in the country and perfect for an end of year burn up. Rachel Gifford continued her superb start to life in green and gold as she ran 37:33. A PB According to her Power of 10. Starting the PB run of superb weekend performances. Unfortunatley i’m yet to think of a pun on her surname for the title. That honour goes to Flick Sharp who, paced by devoted husband Chris (not devoted enough to avoid dipping her on the line though!) recorded a superb PB of 39:26.  Paul Winwood followed up with a PB of 48:19. There were also PB’s for Jan Hornby, Monica Green, Ann Spencer-Dowdeswell and Gareth Lloyd. Top PBing.

Run to The Castle:
Ultra fun for Tim Price who ran the Winter Run to The Castle: Aberdovey to Harlech.  68Km at 6:32 a km pace.  7 hours 25 minutes and 16 seconds for the big man.  That’s why we call him Mountain Man. A big shout to Michael Swann who’s attempt was thwarted by a sore groin.  A brave effort from both men in torrential ran, over massive hills and battered by high winds.

Milton Keynes Winter Half:
Pete Makepeace rounded off a superb year for him by running a PB of 1:31:52.  Pete’s previous PB was 1:39:14. So he smashed a massive 7 min 22 sec off his previous best. Phwoar!

Keyworth Turkey Trot:
A first ever half for Martin Hancock who broke his duck at Keyworth. Martin ran a more than respectable 1:47:45 on his first attempt. Not too shabby that!

Brueton parkrun:
The PB Party continued at Brueton as Rosie Marsh lowered her best to 20:04. Slicing 3 seconds off her previous best and nibbling ever closer to that 20 min barrier.  Phil Wood joined in on the fun with 22:14 for a new lifetime best.

First K&D Man was Jack Bristow who ran 17:57, followed swiftly by a conservative run of 18:07 for Chris Sharp and newbie Steven Whatmore who clocked 18:27.

The women were led by Rosie Marsh and her PB. Mary Heald ran a more than solid 20:35 while Kerry Ann Thompson sped round to 22:08.

Perry Hall parkrun:
K&D On Tour Oi.Oi.Oi. Graham Edwards led the team home on tour with a superb 24:53 at Perry Hall. Kevin Tomkinson ran 25:17, Nigel Foster ran 26:59, Katie Price clocked 30:12, Caroline Edwards delivered a 30:44 and Stephen Evans finished off the troop in 31:39. There were no diplomatic incidents. Incredibly.

Arrow Valley parkrun:
Jack Whitehouse ran a nice 22:21 over in Redditch.

Torbay Velopark parkrun:
Bulied into joining so we could get that extra London place, Chairman’s Dad David John celebrated his peer pressuring into K&D by running a course PB of 32:49. Thats that K&D magic.
