Weekend Recap: AmsterDamn Yeah! Brueton PB Jamboree

Amsterdam Marathon:
Smita Deshpande added Amsterdam to her list of marathon’s over the weekend. She took on the 26.2miles and looked very happy afterwards. Smita ran a superbly paced effort averaging between 6:30 & 7:08/km the entire way. Top, top pacing.

Brueton parkrun:
Wowzers from Mary Heald and Kerry Ann Thompson as the two of them made mincemeat of their PBs over the weekend. Mary broke 20 minutes for the first time, blasting round in 19:45. Welcome to club-sub-20 Mary! Kerry continued her rapid progress as she ran 21:45. 17 PB’s for Kerry Ann Thompson in 24 weeks.  Bonkers. The ladies were joined by Paul Winwood, who made it the PB Three-peat. Marathon, Half and 5k in three weeks. Paul ran 22:54, breaking 23 minutes for the first time.

Along for the PB-Party were newbie Sam Webster (26:15) and the ever-improving Gareth Lloyd (26:46). Top running team!

Ainsley Wainwright took the overall Brueton honours for K&D on Saturday. Keeping up the family tradition of a Wainwright on the podium Ainsley ran 19:50. Not far off his own PB of 19:28.  PB-tastic Mary took 2nd overall and 1st woman on saturday, while Russell Davies rounded out the podium in 21:02.  Lloyd Barton took bronze for the men in 21:22 as Kerry Ann Thompson’s PB saw her take 2nd woman overall and Louise Bell was 3rd woman overall and herself only 3 seconds shy of her best.

Beckenham parkrun:
Sarah Connors (not the one from Terminator) was found in Beckenham this weekend as she ran 25:59.

Kingsbury Waterparkrun:
Lakes galore for Simon Battson as he enjoyed a trott round Kingsbury in 40:51.

Sutton parkrun:
Kate Marsh took the honours for K&D on tour at Sutton parkrun. The trail run took her 26:12 including a stop to check on Wheezy McWheezy and his dodgy lungs. Splitting Kate and Wheezy was Kevin Tomkinson who ran, with child, in 28:34. Wheezy The Chairman ran 29:44 for a personal worst parkrun time.

Coldham parkrun:
John Garside clocked a 21:47 as he enjoyed a post-Chicago adventure. Coldham parkrun is in Cambridge and is vegan and vegetarian friendly despite the name.
