Tis’ the season to smash a course record. Rob Michaelson-Yeates turned up at Oaklands and took apart the previous course record running a superb 16:07. The course is definitely quick as long as you get the two drags up hill correct off a lightning fast start. Rob rocked up and put several hundred meters on Darren John in 2nd place who ran 18:35 (1 second slower than last month, but considering he’s been ill and injured for most of Dec…). Third K&D was big Dave Carbutt. The Car Boot clocked a solid 19:32 while Steve Marks snuck in like a thief in the night to run 33:36.
It was a quick one for K&D on Saturday as several runners PB’d. Chief among them was Adeba Jama who celebrated her victory as K&D Christmas Paarlauf Champion with a superb 23:22. A lovely pre-Christmas present. She joined Habib Farazmand who edged closer to 17 min with a 17:20. And Kerry Ann Thompson who, after several weeks of swift improvement confirmed her status as back to her best by running 21:40. Superb running from all three.
In the race for the K&D Podium it was Gareth Wainwright who continues to make sub-17 look ordinary. A 16:41 was chased hard by Gary Polhill in 17:17 and Habib Farazmand. Flick Sharp enjoyed a relatively sedate 20:47 (I remember when that’d be faster than her PB!). Kerry Ann Thompson kept her honesty though by running 21:40 and Rosie Marsh experienced Groundhog Day running 21:45 on 21st Dec, 19th October and 21:46 on 12th October.
Down south, where the weather is warmer as its closer to the equator, Lloyd Barton ran 21:19
Lissy Calvert popped up in Oriam, which sounds very indecisive. I’m going to Oriam parkrun she said, Or I Am not. Who knows. She did. She ran 32:56
Shorne Woods parkrun:
Shorne of any K&D colleagues but still full of adventure Ian Maidment ran 31:10
