Weekend Recap: 20 and Half (or Two)

Ashby 20:
Three K&D’ers took on the ever popular Ashby 20. Max Mladenovic led the chaps round in 2:32:24. Pete Makepeace in 2:52:48 and Mike McDonald’s 2:53:52. Alway’s a sell-out, K&D’s gents were fast on the race-entry and race day.

Coventry Half Marathon:
When you’re on a roll, you’re on a roll! Gary Polhill cemented his recent improvements and hard work with an all access pass to the Sub-80min HM Club. Gary ran 1:19:40. Woosh.

Behind Gary was Wheezy himself, Chairman Darren. Showing glimmers of his return he ran 1:24:39 and declared himself pretty pleased. Running 1:36:59 was pilot of K&D Airlines Adam O’Nions. James Corden (not that one) ran 1:38:13 (definitely not that one). And Louise Bell was only 7 seconds off her 5 year old PB running 1:44:17. Finally Hayley Turner ran 2:07:49 and Smita Deshpande ran a wonderful 2:08:23. Both PB’s.

London Landmark’s Half:
Emily King ticked off her 6th HM of the year as she headed to London. Taking in the sights. Running 2:51:05, Emily battled back from illness and injury.

Brueton parkrun:
With a number of K&D’ers over at the Relays it was left to George de Bolla to lead the K&D Pain Train round Brueton. George ran 18:18 and was joined on the podium by 18:58 and Ainsley Wainwright. Ainsley’s 19:08 was another PB as he continued his fine run of form.

Mary Heald doubled up and ran a 22:33 before smashing the Road Relay’s glory leg. Siobhan Cotter ran 25:03 and Sarah Cattell’s 26:56 rounded out the K&D Women’s Podium.

Joining Ainsley Wainwright in the PB party tent is Sarah Barker who ran an excellent 28:06 on her 4th parkrun. Kay Adenipekun’s 22:53 reserved him a seat at the top table.

Arrow Valley parkrun:
Jack Whitehouse backed up his recent great form with a very solid 21:04 at Arrow Valley.

Cannon Hill parkrun:
Johnny Bellmen’s 19:29 saw him finish a strong 30th at the always fast Cannon Hill.

Torbay Velopark parkrun:
David John celebrated his recent 105 mile walking week by running 30:58 to go under 31 for the first time.

Walsall Arboretum parkrun:
Touristing on his Birthday for Phil Wood who ran 21:36.

Bedworth parkrun:
23:36 for Uber Tourist Kevin Tomkinson who’s peppering his PB.

Severn Bridge parkrun:
Now one of the top tourist destinations the Severn Bridge parkrun attracted Gareth Lloyd and Louise Taylor on Saturday. They crossed the bridge in 26:05 and 27:44.
